The aftermath of the fatal shooting that resulted in the resignation of Officer Richard Haste from the NYPD is bad news for the department, the president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association and a former police officer who teaches at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice agreed last week.
“I think what’s missing from the department is the understanding that cops don’t go to work to kill people,” SBA leader Edward D. Mullins said in an interview.
