A Sanitation Worker who used a set of discarded license plates to dodge parking and traffic regulations, running up nearly $18,000 in fines and penalties, has been charged with grand larceny and faces up to seven years in prison if convicted, the Department of Investigation announced Aug. 14.
Jason Rivera, a 13-year SanWorker who had the bogus plates on his car when it was spotted outside the Brooklyn department garage where he was based, allegedly found the plates in 2016 and gave them to a friend for use until they were returned to him the following year.
