A former Assistant Commissioner with the city Probation Department was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to child-pornography charges earlier this year.
Robert Costello, 54, pleaded guilty in March to three counts of receipt of child pornography and related charges following his February indictment on charges of receiving and possessing thousands of explicit images and videos of minor children he received and viewed on electronic devices in his Bethlehem, Pa., home, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
