A former Bridgeport, Conn., Police Chief was sentenced April 12 to a year and a day in prison for conspiring to rig the exam that landed him that job in 2018 and then lying about it to FBI agents.
Armando J. Perez, who pleaded guilty in October to single counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and making false statements to Federal investigators, will also serve two years of supervised release, and pay a fine of $7,500 and restitution of $299,407, the Office of United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Audrey Strauss said.
