7 Teachers Who ‘Get It’ and Engage Students Fêted With Sloan Awards

Hundreds of energetic high-school students filled Cooper Union’s Great Hall to cheer on seven Teachers who were being honored for their dedication to science, technology, engineering and math at the Sloan Awards for Excellence in Teaching Science and Mathematics Dec. 4.

The Fund for the City of New York since 2009 has presented awards annually to high-school math and science Teachers who inspire students to pursue careers in STEM. Each Teacher received a $5,000 prize, as well as $2,500 for their school’s math and science programs.
