Nearly 300 resident physicians at two hospitals in Queens could go on strike May 15 if they don’t make significant progress towards reaching a contract, with residents at a third hospital in the borough also voting to authorize a strike.
About 93 percent of residents employed by the MediSys Health Network at Jamaica and Flushing Hospitals who participated in last month’s strike vote supported walking out if an agreement isn’t reached. The residents, who have been in negotiations with MediSys since October, say they’re frustrated by the lack of progress.
