Yellow cab drivers fear that the imposition of congestion-pricing fees to the starting taxi fare could lead to the demise of their industry.
Stung by the invasion of app-based for-hire vehicles roughly a decade ago and decimated by the pandemic, the drivers are facing the likelihood that the MTA’s plan will add yet another trip surcharge to metered rates — and chase away potential fares.
