May I please suggest you do a story on an injustice to hundreds of men and women who are on the New York State civil-service eligibility list for University Police Officer 1?
When the test was given in November of 2013, there was no age limit for this position. But in December 2015, the State Legislature passed a law that imposed a limit of 35. People on the list who are over 35 and who took the test in good faith that they met the qualifications were not grandfathered. They received letters from the Civil Service Commission in February 2016 saying they were not eligible.
