The United Federation of Teachers has rebuked the prophets of doom, shamed the union-busters, beaten the dubious odds, shattered the prayers of the conservative “think tanks” and forced the New York Post to gag on the news that not only did the Teachers union not suffer a loss of support from its members in the wake of the notorious Janus Supreme Court decision, but has scored a resounding expression of confidence from its fiercely loyal membership.
The UFT’s robust standing among its members is undiminished. Its clean financial bill of health proves that not only is the union surviving, but it is flourishing. It must have been painful for the reluctant journalists at the Post to concede that.
