A conservative critic (July 20 letter) writes that I do not know “much about taxes” if I believe the Trump tax law provides little relief for the working class while heaping riches on corporations.
To prove his point, he goes on to provide savings examples at various income levels. So far, so good. However, he cherry-picks his examples and only includes “before and after” examples that assume everyone used the standard deduction in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
