The revelation that the citywide commander of the NYPD’s Special Victims Division (SVD), Deputy Chief Michael Osgood, made a substantial donation to the Trump campaign AFTER the infamous Access Hollywood tape came to light is deeply disturbing. As we all know, Mr. Trump is heard on that video bragging about his acting upon impulse to “start kissing” women he finds attractive and that he doesn’t “even wait” for their consent; going on to state that his celebrity status affords him immunity because “when you’re a star they let you do it” and more.
For his part, Police Commissioner (PC) O’Neill has acknowledged that these revelations have exposed a need for changes within the SVD, presumably starting with its leadership.
