Mayor Progressively Worse

Not too many people get fired by Mayor Bill de Blasio. The ones exposed as lying and/or incompetent (which gives them two things in common with the Mayor) wind up resigning. But if you do your job too well, as is the case of Investigations Commissioner Mark Peters, that will get you the boot.

When it came to the recent snowstorm, de Blasio rightly (which is rare for him) said that it was unforeseeable. I remember the weather reports that day saying there would be no accumulation and it would turn to rain. But on Friday, Nov. 30, Deputy Mayor Laura Anglin demanded Office of Emergency Management Chief Joe Esposito’s resignation. Since when does a Deputy Mayor have that power?
