Mayor Bloomberg’s “outrage” at those who support ending stop-and-frisk alleging that they are threatening public safety rings hollow given his budgetary proposal for the attrition of more of the jobs of police officers beginning July 1. If anything, the number of officers should be increased, especially in areas where there is only one police car available on a given shift.
