To the Editor:
Shame on George Arzt to use the passing of District Attorney Joe Hynes to criticize him (Feb. 8 article). My late father once said that at a time like this, if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing. Arzt in his criticism takes some cheap shots that are about Joe's administrative ability that he cannot support, other than as to what Ed Koch allegedly said. Obviously, there are two late, great Governors of the State of New York, Hugh Carey and Mario Cuomo who would not agree with Arzt, or Koch for that matter. Wrapped around his time as Fire Commissioner they appointed him to two very important posts that required a great deal of administrative expertise: State Special Prosecutor for nursing homes and Special Prosecutor the Howard Beach murder case.
