As an old Brooklyn Dodger fan from the Ebbets Field days, I despised Leo Durocher, a cheater (with the telescope in the scoreboard in the Polo Grounds in 1951), a friend of mobsters, probably the only real enemy Babe Ruth ever had (he stole Ruth’s watch from his locker), who ordered the beaning of Dodger clutch hitter Carl Furillo twice. However, it’s hard to argue with Leo’s mantra of “Nice guys finish last.”
With that in mind and turning to politics, Hillary Clinton did not act like a “nice guy” in Thursday’s debate. And that’s why she will not defeat herself in her current battle with Bernie Sanders. Viewed unemotionally and objectively, Hillary kicked Bernie’s butt in the debate by not being nice, and by showing how utterly impossible it would be for a President Sanders to implement any of his pet socialist policies.
