To the Editor:

When you have debates moderated by what most television news people are—entertainers posing as journalists—important questions don’t get asked.

That’s what happened in the June 27 debate that Sen. Kamala Harris “won.” Her record as a prosecutor who tried to keep innocent people in prison on legal technicalities and defended convictions obtained via false confessions, perjury and withholding evidence, among other things, was never brought up by any of the five alleged journalists.

The fact that someone with her record would present herself as a fighter for civil rights just because her skin is darker than most people guilty of these abuses is sheer hypocrisy.

With the exception of The New York Times, which last Jan. 17 printed Lara Bazelon’s commentary, “Kamala Harris Was Not A Progressive Prosecutor,” the mainstream media has buried the truth about her.
