Eulogy for Chancellor Levy

The eulogies following the death last month of former Schools Chancellor Harold Levy were remarkable not only for their poignancy but for the diversity of their sources.

They were voiced by people inside and outside the educational system, including some with clashing views on education philosophy, from the tainted Cami Anderson to the highly respected Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, who had been the president of the United Federation of Teachers union during Levy’s two-year tenure.
