I read the letter to the editor by TWU Local 100 lawyer Denis Engel (Sept. 14 issue) about Steve Downs, along with Richard Steier’s Oct. 5 column about him, with great disbelief.
I supposed ignorance concerning this period in Local 100’s history could lead Engel to call Steve Downs “the conscience of TWU ‘100.' "
