Alleged progressives have vilified State Sen. Jeffrey Klein for forming the Independent Democratic Conference in response to his party leaders’ corruption and dysfunction.
The bills Klein has helped pass in alliance with Republicans bear no resemblance to the Trump agenda. But Klein’s critics claim more would have been accomplished if he and his colleagues had rejoined the Democrats. Now that they have done so, this is not the case. Simcha Felder still caucuses with the Republicans.
