Until now, Mayor de Blasio has been playing a kind of double game—supporting public schools against corporate reformers like Betsy DeVos and Eva Moskowitz, while allowing holdovers from the Bloomberg bureaucracy to continue the war on Teachers in the schools almost unabated, with a wink and a nod from the Chancellor’s Office.
