The incredibly courageous fight by school communities at Townsend Harris High School and Central Park East I to remove allegedly abusive Principals Rosemary Jahoda and Monika Garg may be a turning point in the 21st-century education war.

Until now, Mayor de Blasio has been playing a kind of double game—supporting public schools against corporate reformers like Betsy DeVos and Eva Moskowitz, while allowing holdovers from the Bloomberg bureaucracy to continue the war on Teachers in the schools almost unabated, with a wink and a nod from the Chancellor’s Office.
