The second act of last year’s Inner Circle Show departed from custom in acknowledgement of Donald Trump having become President. Instead of beginning with the chorus decked out as Americans of various stripes to kick off the national portion of the charity satire, its members were wearing the dress uniforms of the Red Army Choir, the backdrop was “Grand Kremlin Palace,” and to the tune of “Katyusha” they solemnly sang:
“Donald Trump respects President Putin/In return, we honor him tonight/ He don’t care if we fix U.S. election/Agent Orange thinks like a Muscovite/He don’t care if we fix U.S. election/ Agent Orange thinks like a Muscovite.”
