It wasn’t hard last week to imagine the ghost of Robert La Follette, the founding father of the Progressive movement in America, railing at Bill de Blasio for giving it a bad name.
It goes beyond the multitude of investigations cropping up of the Mayor’s fund-raising practices, starting with his 2013 mayoral campaign and continuing through his efforts to tilt three upstate State Senate elections to allow Democrats to regain a majority in the upper house of the State Legislature.
