Mayor Pulls Trigger At HA, Still Under Siege

There were two responses by Shola Olatoye, in an interview with NY1’s Errol Louis hours after she announced April 10 that she was stepping down as New York City Housing Authority Chair, that stuck in the mind for their unintended irony.

The first came in describing the impact she and Mayor de Blasio have had on the troubled agency over the past 52 months. “The Mayor has really placed NYCHA at the forefront of the discussion of what kind of city we want it to be,” she said on “Inside City Hall.” “The fact that we have three levels of government focused on what the future of public housing in New York City looks like I think is a good thing.”
