In Albany, Saving Face Beats Facing the Music

What was supposed to be the final week of this year’s legislative session in Albany began with what Winston Churchill once called “a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.”

He was referring to Russia, and the key to deciphering it, the British statesman said, was that country’s national interest. When it comes to Albany politics, self-interest is usually the best explanation.
