It was hard, watching the dueling testimonies of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh during his Sept. 27 confirmation hearing, not to notice the contrast in what seemed to bother them most: her pain in retelling what she described as an attempt by him 36 years ago to rape her, vs. his pique with Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee whom he essentially accused of raining on his coming-out party.
In arguing that his “confirmation process has become a national disgrace,” Mr. Kavanaugh unloaded on Democrats fueled by “pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 elections,” Bill and Hillary Clinton seeking “revenge” against him and Mr. Trump, and well-funded “left-wing opposition groups” willing to pay any price and plumb any depth to prevent him from being placed on the Supreme Court.
