For 'Joey Knish' Cuomo, How Sweet It Wasn't

On the morning after he defeated Cynthia Nixon by 31 points in the Democratic primary, Governor Cuomo explained it all to reporters in full Joey Knish mode.

Joey Knish, played by John Turturro in “Rounders,” the 1998 movie about card-players, unlike the protagonist, Mike, played by Matt Damon, does not aspire to winning the World Series of Poker. He’s carved out a solid living for himself playing the percentages and not over-extending himself. He is given to lecturing Mike in a quiet, sing-song of a monotone about not having the luxury of chasing grand dreams because of the real-world realities like paying alimony and child support.
