There are those who will argue that Cynthia Nixon’s challenge to Governor Cuomo’s re-election is a vanity production stage-managed by Mayor de Blasio that is designed to take a bite out of the incumbent’s posterior and perhaps also position the “Sex and the City” actress for a more-realistic run for Mayor in 2021.
On the other side of the ledger are those Democrats who contend that a compelling case against a third term for Mr. Cuomo can be made, and however long the odds that a first-time candidate with no obvious credentials to be the state’s chief executive may be, you can never say never after Donald Trump was elected President.
