The ruminations about the older brother/younger brother relationship that supposedly exists between Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio leave us wondering whether they ever matriculate into adulthood, or the Governor forever plays Wally, with large doses of Eddie Haskell, to Mr. de Blasio’s Beaver.
Even overbearing big brothers and their chronically annoying siblings are supposed to grow up sometime. In the case of Mr. Cuomo and Mr. de Blasio, it seems as if it takes the combination of the news media in the role of Ward Cleaver and the polls showing that the rest of the kids at the local high school are finding the battles between them more tiresome than amusing to produce brief flashes of maturity before the next bout of wrestling and hair-pulling.
