Most people, upon hearing the phrase “attack on our country in a true sense,” would associate it with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, or the World Trade Center terrorist atrocities 60 years later.
President Trump, with his usual sense of proportion, uttered that phrase April 9 in connection with the FBI raid on the offices and hotel room of his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen. It didn’t matter that the FBI agents came with a search warrant from a Federal Judge, something that they can obtain only after presenting compelling arguments that it is necessary to prevent a possible cover-up of criminal activity.
