Further details about compensation for top executives of the Municipal Credit Union uncovered by this newspaper’s Bob Hennelly in a front-page story illuminate why they were apparently so complacent while disgraced ex-president and CEO Kam Wong was allegedly embezzling millions of dollars in members’ money.
As we noted in an editorial last month in the wake of Mr. Wong’s arrest, those executives couldn’t have been expected to know that he whiled away his weekends blowing more than $3 million on lottery tickets, according to Federal prosecutors.
