Transport Workers Union Local 100 has sued New York City Transit and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services for their alleged “arbitrary and capricious failure” to comply with multiple provisions of the state Civil Service Law in keeping 300 Station Agents in provisional status since 2015.
As a result, those employees don’t have civil-service protection or “the right to utilize the disciplinary-appeal machinery created by the Local 100 contract with the Transit Authority,” according to Local 100’s Oct. 12 court filing.
