Following a New York Times article that revealed that a Success Academy Principal circulated a “Got to Go” list of students he wanted to see leave his school, the network’s CEO, Eva Moskowitz, admitted that he made a mistake, but said her schools quickly responded to the isolated incident.
“In this case, I take responsibility for failing to adequately train a Principal and support him in a very difficult situation,” she said. “But I also take credit for the fact that we acted swiftly to address the mistake, to correct his understanding and the school community’s understanding.”
