Less than 20 minutes into their Oct. 23 debate, Marc Molinaro teed up Andrew Cuomo and swung from his heels, stating, “Governor, you have led the most corrupted state government in America. Eight individuals closely associated with your administration are now going to jail or have gone to jail for Federal corruption charges. At what point after eight years of being in office do you take responsibility? Or at least admit you either have benefited politically or you have no clue what’s going on in your administration?”
It was one of the rare moments in their contentious face-off when the Governor did not interrupt, and so Mr. Molinaro continued, “You have allowed individuals in this administration to defraud taxpayers, and anywhere else in America no Governor could possibly be running for re-election.”
