According to new national research, health-care workers in emergency departments, psychiatric units and pediatric-care units are particularly vulnerable to stress and depression caused by the steady stream of traumatic events they regularly experience.
In response, New York City Health + Hospitals has launched a system-wide initiative to ensure access to mental-health expertise and peer-to-peer support for its workforce.
