By all accounts, Ray Pfeifer is a brave man with a generous soul. He also proved a modest one Jan. 9 when Mayor de Blasio presented him with a key to the city for his work fighting for Sept. 11 health-care benefits.
Mr. Pfeifer, a retired Firefighter, served nearly 28 years with the FDNY. After the Sept. 11 attacks, he spent a week sleeping in his fire truck near The Pile.
