The de Blasio administration’s stalled probe of Orthodox Jewish schools has been held up because it wasn’t able to visit half of the schools, according to the Department of Education.
The DOE has been investigating the quality of education provided at Orthodox Jewish schools since advocacy group Yaffed complained in 2015 that 39 yeshivas in the city did not meet the state requirement to provide an education in subjects such as English, math and history “at least substantially equivalent” to public schools.
