A former public official who was head of the Democratic Party in North Hempstead, L.I., was sentenced May 29 to three years in prison for failing to pay taxes during 15 years of holding government jobs.
Gerard Terry, 62, of Roslyn in Nassau County, was also ordered to pay $992,057 in restitution and forfeit $31,000, and to serve three years of supervised release after he gets out.
