WTC Trauma Adds Risk Of Heart Attack, Stroke

A groundbreaking medical study of workers and volunteers who participated in the World Trade Center clean-up has determined that those who experienced post-traumatic stress disorder may be at a higher risk of stroke and heart disease than the general population.

The findings are based on the evaluation of 6,841 non-firefighter workers and untrained volunteers present during the WTC clean-up operation.
