Workers’ Comp Chief Reflects on Her Rise

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg finally got the Hollywood treatment with the the release of the movie “On the Basis of Sex” which depicts how, while still in law school, she managed to balance attending to her husband—ill with cancerwhile also caring for her infant daughter.

But while Ms. Ginsburg’s story is a remarkable one, it is emblematic of a couple of generations of women lawyers, since the 1970s social revolution, who decided they could “make a difference” by practicing law in the public interest, all while balancing family life.
