With the aid of a $33-million campaign fund, union support and a “blue wave” of voters disgusted with President Trump, Governor Cuomo cruised to victory in his bid for a third term Nov. 6 along with many other Democrats, including enough to take control of the State Senate.
“The people have spoken,” said Carl E. Heastie, Speaker of the State Assembly, which than and how remained under Democratic control. “They said that they are tired of the attacks on health care, attacks on women’s reproductive rights and they are tired of tax cuts for wealthy donors.”
