Community health activists are sounding the alarm that changes by the Trump Administration to the criteria for granting permanent resident status will discourage immigrants, both legal and undocumented, from seeking out screening for communicable diseases like tuberculosis.
This will also include immigrant parents with American-born children opting not to participate in the Children’s Health Insurance Program, register them for public school and get the shots required for their school attendance.
