New York State Trooper Michael J. Anson, 56, died Jan. 2 from a World Trade Center-related illness he contracted during his tour of duty at the site, according to the New York State Police. Mr. Anson, a 31-year veteran, was the sixth Trooper to succumb to a 9/11-related illness.
A father of three, he was based at the New Scotland barracks but also worked out of the barracks in East Greenbush, Brunswick and Schodack, according to the Albany Times Union newspaper. For the past five years, he worked at the State Police Academy.
