For the United Women Firefighters, confirmation that an unprecedented number of women signed up to take the FDNY Firefighter exam was great news but presented it with something of a challenge, according to its president, Firefighter Sarinya Srisakul.
In the past, the female support group helped hundreds of women candidates prepare for both their physical and written tests. But this time, UWF had to scale up to handle the major surge in women interested in the job.
