Two prominent political activists, including a top union leader, are sending warnings about next month’s Chicago mayoral runoff election, comparing incumbent Rahm Emanuel to Governor Cuomo for what they say is his love affair with the rich and his disdain for unionized public workers. They claim that the outcome could affect the race for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.
“Rahm Emanuel personifies the 1 percent,” said Larry Hanley, who started out driving a bus in Brooklyn and is now international president of the Amalgamated Transit Union.
