The United Federation of Teachers is hoping to quickly reach a contract agreement for Occupational and Physical Therapists—who last month voted against a unionwide wage deal—in order to avoid having to ask the state Public Employment Relations Board to intervene.
“The idea is to get back to the bargaining table as soon as possible,” said Occupational and Physical Therapist chapter leader Thomas Ayrovainen during a Nov. 29 phone interview.
