The case against the alleged killer of Emergency Medical Technician Yadira Arroyo was adjourned Nov. 13 until Dec. 5 because a report on the accused’s mental fitness from the state-appointed psychiatrist was not ready, according to the Bronx District Attorney’s press office.
In April, a court-appointed psychiatrist testified that the defendant, Jose Gonzalez, was unfit for trial and unable to assist in his own defense. A month later, Dr. Nicole Carter, the psychiatrist working for the Bronx DA’s office, testified Mr. Gonzalez was fit to stand trial.
