Five ranking NYPD cops who said they were forced to leave the department because of alleged ties to a wide-ranging federal bribery investigation will share a $1-million settlement from the city.
Former Deputy Chiefs Andrew Capul, David Colon, Eric Rodriguez and John Sprague and Former Inspector Peter DeBlasio alleged they had lost pay and vacation and comp time when they were pressured to retire in July 2016 by then-Deputy Commissioner for Legal Matters Lawrence Byrne, purportedly at the direction of William L. Bratton, the Police Commissioner at the time.
