Stop-and-Frisks Drop Sharply Again, Even As Murders Plummet

The number of stop-and-frisks by police, which plummeted from more than 200,000 a year earlier to 99,728 during the first quarter of 2013, fell even further to 58,088 during the second quarter compared to 133,934 during the same period 12 months earlier, according to a court document filed Aug. 27 during the same period by the city Department of Law.
