Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill presided over a promotion ceremony March 27 at which he gave good news to 45 uniformed officers and 74 civilian employees.
Raymond Rooney, commander of the Detective Bureau Central Investigations Division, was promoted to Deputy Chief. He joined the Housing Police Department in January 1984. Previous command slots include IAB Group 27 as well as the 50th and 52nd precincts. He served as executive officer of the 45th and 47th precincts and of Detective Borough Bronx. He also served as Detective Bureau Adjutant.
