A State Assemblyman from Queens who claimed he took expense reimbursements he was not entitled to because his $79,500 salary was too low pleaded guilty May 7 in Federal Court to bilking the state of more than $50,000.
Later the same day, William Scarborough, 69, pleaded guilty in Albany Supreme Court to state charges that he diverted more than $40,000 from his campaign funds for his personal use.
